I'll be honest. Dreadlocke is only here for a few lines of dialogue in the opening part of this issue. When it came time to start checking off the emotional beats of the story, I didn't have anything to do with her. Hence the throwaway gag.

Yeah OK, "but not on a mission", by which I mean that all that is fine and great but how the heck is that supposed to help just now?
I'm very curious about how this will play out.

It seems that Meteor doesn’t think he’s been much of a leader so far this issue, which the evidence pretty much backs up. He got in a fight earlier with Hawk. He didn’t listen to Blackout. Shield has kind of been acting as the de facto leader. Team members were openly talking behind his back in the opening. And this current fight has been an uncoordinated disaster.
He seems ready to take charge, but first, as he says, he needs “respect and trust” for whatever comes next.

The problem I have is that he's zipping around the room for these talks in the middle of a fight. This is bad tactics and would also allow Derringer to anticipate where he'll be. IMO it'd be better to do a split panel or inset with whoever he's talking to.

A split panel inset might have worked. Seems detached and impersonal though. I think he needs to be in the same panel as the people he's talking to.
Derringer can anticipate and counter what he does next regardless of where he is.

I suspect that this is where we find out just how powerful Derringer is, as opposed to his ability to anticipate their tactics.
Let's see if he can withstand a truly coordinated assault.
